Tim was born at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey on Wednesday the 13th of February 1985 with a severe congenital Heart defect. This required regular monitoring at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. During which time I underwent many operations with the major ones detailed below: 1985– Pulmonary Banding 1990– Hole repaired which went wrong resulting in a second open-heart operation plus fitment of a pacemaker at the end of an 8 week hospital stay 1994– Pacemaker replacement resulting in a massive hematoma needing additional surgery 1995– Tricuspid valve replacement (open-heart) actually went quite well 1998– Pacemaker replacement and suffering from atria fibrillation April 2000– Pacemaker blown up in routine defibrillation exercise woke up in intensive car June 2000– Heart Transplant at GOSH which went well despite my old heart arresting as soon as went under anesthetic and had to re-visit surgery to fix some aorta bleeding July 2000– Suffering from blood clot in left leg as a result of being placed under emergency by-pass during the Heart Transplant August 2000– Suffer a collapsed lung after a routine biopsy went a bit wrong. I have now transferred to Harefield Transplant clinic and currently attend clinic every 6 months and have angiograms every two years. In total the operation count is somewhere between 35-40, with lot’s more in between that I’ve missed because every trip to hospital tends to blur into one! Below is a short list of the more memorable highlights of my life: 1998– Starlight foundation Wish granted to see F1 testing at Silverstone with Andy Priaulx as my tour guide. 2000– Wimbledon visit straight after transplant 2001– Passed all 11 GCSE’s awarded the Princess Diana memorial award for succeeding through adversity 2003– Passed A levels accepted to Hertfordshire University 2004– Started racing karts 2005– Competed for my University in the BUKC finishing 4th out of 60 universities 2005– Selected to drive the Formula Student car 2007– Captained the BUKC team to the championship title 2007- Part of the UH Formula Student team which came 2nd in the UK and 8th in the World 2007– Graduated University with a First class degree
